Thank you to the committee for taking the time to plan and organize our 50th reunion!
After graduating TZHS, I attended SUNY Buffalo. No surprise here I majored in History and Theatre Arts. I met the love of my life while in college and we were married in 1981. I loved living upstate and at the time never thought about moving back downstate. Life for me has come full circle as I returned to South Orangetown in 1983.
While in college I was working at a Health Club and had been promoted to manager and as I loved what I was doing, I was set. However, in 1983, my husband had an opportunity in NYC that brought us back here. During that time I wore many different hats.
In 1986 we welcomed our son and only child, who is also a TZHS graduate. I soon realized I had a passion for advocating for children through volunteering when my son started school.
After he graduated, I continued my volunteer service by serving on SOCSD Board of Education for 15 years and currently in my 17th year on Rockland BOCES Board of Education. This was something I never aspired to however it has become intertwined in my life story.
Way back in 2007, because of my love of volunteerism and theatre, I was invited to participate in a cameo appearance in an independent film in Piermont. My involvement quickly turned into my becoming a producer. To think this started with just one phrase “Let’s make a movie”. You may have seen Delilah Rose if you attended the International Nyack Film Festival. Unfortunately, the film has not been brought to fruition due to finances.
That being said it was a great ride. Hope springs eternal that this will happen in the near future. Family has always been the center of my life. Now that we are retired we are looking forward to traveling and having new life experiences. Looking back, life’s journey has been quite unique and the ride goes on…..
