Shari (Cohen) Chase

Well, I’ve been busy over the past 50 years.

I went to the University of Maryland, College Park on a running scholarship, and focused on track. Prior to graduating I was on the United States track team at the Maccabiah Games and brought home 2 medals.

I married at 21 and we were together for 35 years.

Out of college, I was a high school teacher and Head track and hockey coach — coaching for 15 years. I then left teaching and worked in the mergers & acquisitions department at Dun & Bradstreet for 10 years.

I have been a medical rep and a regional physician’s liaison. But my favorite job ever has been as a television show host and co-producer!!!

Through all the years of coaching and working with championship teams, I haven’t given up my love of running or athleticism. I currently hold the Maryland state champion title in both the 50 and 100 meter run and I am competing in nationals this year. I also am an avid pickleball player.

One of the things I am proudest of is my involvement with bringing the IVF procedure called ixi to the United States. I was fortunate enough to have my first child created in Brussels from the procedure, which eventually became the number one IVF procedure in the world. My two boys, Brent and Alec, are my pride and joy!!

I may reside in Maryland, but my heart is still in New York. My high school friends are still my BFFs and my relationship with them is as close as a family could be. The biggest disappointments of my life were loosing my parents — my mom, Bobbi when I was 35 and my dad, Gil, when I was 48. And a big shout out to my dearest sister and brother who have stood by me through it all.

If you ask me what my very favorite time of my life was, and it really was, I’d have to say my time in Tappan and at TZ. Having enjoyed cheerleading so much back then, I have kept it going through the years by coaching cheerleading and participating in other sports. And I still believe living with the glass half full as the way to go.
